คณะรัฐศาสตร์และรัฐประศาสนศาสตร์ร่วมกับ Asia Association for Global Studies (AAGS) จัดการประชุมวิชาการนานาชาติ AAGS 13th Annual International Conference ในหัวข้อ " Heterodoxy in Global Studies" จัดขั้นระหว่างวันที่ 22-23 มีนาคม 2562 ณ สำนักบริการวิชาการ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่
ในงานประชุมดังกล่าวได้รับเกียรติจาก รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ธันยวัฒน์ รัตนสัค คณบดีคณะรัฐศาสตร์และรัฐประศาสนศาสตร์ และ Professor Patrick William Strafford, President เป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดงาน โดยการประชุมดังกล่าว ทางสมาคม AAGS มุ่งหมายให้เป็นเวทีแลกเปลี่ยน อภิปรายแนวคิด และความรู้เกี่ยวกับโลกคดีศึกษา (Global Studies) ซึ่งเป็นการศึกษาในลักษณะสหวิทยาการในประเด็นปัญหาร่วมสมัยทางด้านการเมือง เศรษฐกิจ กฎหมาย ที่มีความเชื่อมโยงในระดับนานาชาติ โดยมีอาจารย์ นักวิจัย และนักศึกษาทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างประเทศเข้าร่วมการประชุม การประชุมแบ่งออกเป็น 6 Session ได้แก่

- Richard Miller: The dichotomy of two traps to world peace through the prisms of timeworn power diplomacy theories.
- Chang Lee Soo: The conversion strategies of protestant missionaries in Chiang Mai city
Session 4
- Gavan Gray: Media reinforcement and personification of 'the other' in international security.
- (Plenary presentation) Patrick Strefford: Remodeling the state and international development.
