ICDI Hosts “Train the Trainer: iDekTep Model” Workshop to Prepare Future Student Trainers

International College of Digital Innovation
On June 26–27, 2025, the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, organized a training workshop titled “Train the Trainer: iDekTep Model” at Room ICB1209. The session was designed for undergraduate students to prepare them to become trainers in upcoming short courses related to robotics, AI, and coding under the iDekTep: Project-Based Learning initiative.
The workshop was led by Dr.Naruetep Suwantada , who delivered a comprehensive lecture covering two main topics:
Topic: “Train the Trainer: iDekTep Model”
- Understanding the roles and responsibilities of a trainer
- Effective communication with young learners
- Building positive teacher-student relationships
- Overview of the iDekTep project
- Developing multidisciplinary engineering skills
Topic: “Instructional Design and Competency-Based Assessment”
- Educational psychology for teaching young learners
- Competency-based learning approaches
- Assessment of learners’ competencies through hands-on learning activities
The iDekTep: Project-Based Learning initiative is an academic development project initiated by the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University (Bangkhen Campus), in collaboration with the International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University. The project aims to enhance young learners’ skills in engineering and digital technology through experiential, hands-on learning with real devices and tools, such as autonomous miniature vehicles, robots, and robotic arms. A series of short training courses is planned for the near future.
