Chiang Mai University Announcement Guidelines to Protect Against the New Spread of COVID-19 for Students and Staff (No. 5)

Following the Chiang Mai University Announcement on the Guidelines to Protect Against the New Spread of COVID-19 for Students and Staff (No. 4) dated February 16, 2021, the COVID-19 situation in Thailand has been improving, thus, the Center of COVID-19 Situation Administration issued an order No. 3/2021 regarding maximum and restricted controlled areas, controlled areas, high surveillance and surveillance areas in accordance with the regulations issued under Section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations, B.E. 2548, dated February 22, 2021. The Chiang Mai Communicable Disease Committee issued an order No. 19/2021 regarding measures to control the travel of persons entering Chiang Mai dated February 24, 2021. Therefore, by virtue of Section 35 and Section 38 (1) of the University Act, Chiang Mai University B.E. 2551, the following measures are announced:
1. The announcement on the Guidelines to Protect Against the New Spread of COVID-19 for Students and Staff (No. 4) of Chiang Mai University dated February 16, 2021 is now superseded by this announcement.
2. Students and staff traveling from maximum and restricted controlled areas, controlled areas, high surveillance and surveillance areas according to the Center of COVID-19 Situation Administration and The Chiang Mai Communicable Disease Committee No. 19/2021 regarding measures to control the travel of persons entering Chiang Mai dated February 24, 2021 and other relevant announcements, must comply with the following guidelines:
2.1 Students and staff arriving from maximum and restricted controlled areas must fill in their information in the "CM-CHANA" application and install the "Mor Chana" application and follow the instructions provided by the system. Students are to consult with their academic advisors and student affairs of the department. Staff must report to the superior of their divisions immediately and self-quarantine for 14 days.
2.2 Students and staff arriving from controlled areas must fill in the information in the “CM-CHANA” application and install the “Mor Chana” application, and follow the instructions provided by the system while self-monitoring.

If point 2 and 2.1 applies to you, please report yourself to Chiang Mai University through https://cmu.to/ReportCoV19R and do a self health check via https://cmsdm.net/CMUCOVID/pages-login.php (CMU SELF HEALTH CHECK for COVID-19) continuously for 14 days while observing symptoms closely.
If there are abnormal symptoms, students must report to their academic advisor and the student affairs unit of that department. Staff must report to the superior of their divisions immediately.
2.3 Students and staff arriving from high surveillance and surveillance areas must fill in the information in the “CM-CHANA” application and install the “Mor Chana” application, and follow the instructions provided by the system while self-monitoring. If there are abnormal symptoms, students must report to their academic advisor and the student affairs unit of that department. Staff must report to the superior of their divisions immediately.
3. Any sporting events or action involving not more than 500 people can be undertaken by following the preventive measures set out by the Center of COVID-19 Situation Administration (COVID-19). If there is a strong reason or necessity to organize an activity with more than 500 participants, first propose this to the university for consideration before making a request to the Chiang Mai Communicable Disease Committee. If committee grants permission, follow the procedure for organizing the event/activities of Chiang Mai University in accordance with the annex in the announcement.
4. Strictly comply with the measures for the prevention of COVID-19 according to the Ministry of Public Health and the Center of COVID-19 Situation Administration (COVID-19). Screening points and temperature checks should be in place, while staff are required to wear masks and wash their hands, maintain social distancing, avoid traveling to crowded areas, be self-aware, responsible, and stay up to date with the university news.
