On November 11, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Apichat Sophadang, Dean of Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School, Chiang Mai University (MIdS CMU), held a meeting with Professor (Practice) Dr. Setth Samphattakul, Director of the University Academic Service Center (UNISERV CMU), and faculty member in the Integrated Science Program, Climate Change Management Research Cluster, MIdS CMU, and Assistant Professor Phonpat Hemwan, Deputy Director of Uniserv CMU.

The meeting aimed to explore collaborative approaches in developing a Disaster Risk Management curriculum under the Integrated Studies Program of MIdS CMU. The program is designed for local administrative organizations, focusing on strengthening sustainability and environmental management competencies among learners.

Key discussion points included:

Development of master’s and doctoral programs in Disaster Management under MIdS CMU’s Integrated Studies.

Design of certificate programs and short training courses for local administrative organizations.

Implementation of Lifelong Education (LE) training programs — both credit-based and non-credit-based formats.

Organization of skill development programs for the general public and interested individuals.
