ICDI Delegation Strengthens Academic Ties During Official Visit to Josai International University, Japan
2 March 2026
International College of Digital Innovation
The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, led by its Asst.Prof.Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean, conducted an official visit to Josai International University (JIU), Japan from 27–28 February 2026 to advance bilateral academic cooperation and explore new initiatives for student development and international engagement.
On 27 February 2026, the ICDI delegation visited the Chiba Togane Campus of Josai International University, where they received a warm welcome from the University President, the Deputy Director of the Organization for the Promotion of International Collaboration, the Deputy Director of the International Affairs Division, and representatives from the Department of International Exchange Studies. Discussions focused on international education trends, mobility programs, and future institutional partnerships. ICDI expressed appreciation for JIU’s gracious hospitality and the constructive dialogue that helped identify promising avenues for collaboration.
On 28 February 2026, the delegation continued its program at the Tokyo Campus of JIU. The visit included a comprehensive campus tour and further in-depth discussions on academic cooperation frameworks. Both sides reached a positive mutual understanding and reaffirmed their intention to collaborate across several strategic areas.
The collaboration framework discussed during the visit includes international student exchange programs between Chiang Mai University and Josai International University and Development of a 1+1 master’s degree pathway program. Students will complete one year of study at CMU and another year in Japan, with credit transfer subject to the agreed academic requirements. Students may choose to graduate with a degree from either institution or receive degrees from both institutions, depending on the terms of the collaboration. These initiatives aim to enhance global exposure to students, strengthen academic progression pathways, and expand international career opportunities for ICDI graduates.
ICDI looks forward to working closely with Josai International University to bring these plans into action and to jointly create broader academic and professional development opportunities for students in the coming years.
