Chiang Mai University students have placed among the top five in a national contest promoting alcohol abstinence, reflecting the important role of young people in fostering positive values and a healthier society.
The university extends its warmest congratulations to representatives from the Democratic Youth Party: Miss Suphitcha Moonfong from the Faculty of Law, Mr. Satthathip Thomma from the Faculty of Humanities, and Mr. Nakrop Daengmanee from the Faculty of Mass Communication. The team achieved an outstanding result by placing in the top five at a campaign competition promoting alcohol abstinence in university settings, organized by the Intervarsity Network for Promoting Alcohol Awareness and featuring participants from 18 institutions nationwide.
The network organized a concluding event for the ‘Gen Z Says No to Alcohol 2025’ campaign on May 6, 2026, at the Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok Hotel. The event was held in collaboration with the Center of Excellence in Data Science for Health Science of Walailak University; the Youth Network for Risk Reduction; the Youth Health Program; the Child, Youth and Family Foundation; and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation. With participation from 18 networked universities, the initiative aimed to encourage the reduction and abstinence of alcohol consumption, foster a culture of non-drinking in society, and promote positive activities aligned with modern youth lifestyles.
This achievement highlights the power of the younger generation in driving creative campaigns that encourage alcohol abstinence as a positive social value, while setting a healthy example for Thai youth in the long term.
Chiang Mai University hopes this accomplishment will inspire young people and all relevant sectors to work together towards building a safer and healthier society for all.
