HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony of the Thailand Research Expo 2022 held at the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) Office, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, in partnership with network organizations of the national research system. The event was held between August 1 – 5, 2022 under the theme of ‘Research for National Development for Security, Prosperity and Sustainability’. On August 1 at the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presented certificates to 14 Outstanding Researchers 2021 – 2022, 4 NRCT Distinguished Research Professors 2019 – 2022 and 32 NRCT Senior Research Scholars. CMU President Professor Dr. Pongrak Sribanditmongkol and the executive team attended the reception to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and congratulated the award recipients.
The five CMU researchers who had the honor of receiving certificates from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn were:
- Faculty of Science’s Emeritus Professor Dr. Saisamorn Lumyong – NRCT Distinguished Research Professors 2022,
- Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences’ Distinguished Professor Dr. Watchara Kasinrerk – NRCT Distinguished Research Professors 2019,
- Faculty of Dentistry’s Distinguished Professor Dr. Siriporn Chattipakorn – NRCT Senior Research Scholar 2019,
- Faculty of Engineering’s Professor Dr. Nakorn Tippayawong – NRCT Senior Research Scholar 2019, and
- Faculty of Social Sciences’ Associate Professor Dr. Pinkaew Laungaramsri – NRCT Senior Research Scholar 2019.
Associate Professor Dr. Winita Punyodom, Vice President ad Interim, reported to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. At the Research University Network’s (RUN) Exhibition, CMU’s highlights were the project Gastronomy tourism: Lanna gastronomy by the Food Innovation and Packaging Centre and Mr. Phromphat Chotsiradanan, Ph.D. student in Arts and Design who reported to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and showed his painting at the PMUs Exhibition.
