CMU Hosts Royal Chanting Ceremony in Honour of HM Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother

On April 1, 2026, Chiang Mai University was granted royal permission to host a Royal Chanting Ceremony as part of the Royal Funeral rites for Queen Sirikit. The ceremony took place at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall.
In attendance were Emeritus Professor Dr Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the Chiang Mai University Council, along with Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of CMU, members of the University Council, and university executives. The ceremony was held in solemn remembrance of Her Majesty’s enduring royal grace and contributions to the Thai people.
