Faculty of Agro-Industry, CMU Granted Copyright Certification for “Online General Request System”
2 March 2026
Faculty of Agro-Industry
The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, has officially been granted copyright certification for the work entitled “Online General Request System.” The work is categorized as a literary work in the form of a computer program and was certified on November 24, 2025.
The system was developed by Wimol Khamboonruang, Educational Administration Officer, and theerayuth thongsuk, Senior Professional Educational Technology Officer. The initiative aims to enhance academic service operations and improve the overall efficiency and quality of educational administration within the Faculty.
The Online General Request System was developed using PHP in conjunction with a MySQL database and operates as a fully web-based application. It integrates data from multiple sources, including the Faculty’s central database and the student registration database from the Office of Registration and Processing, enabling a comprehensive online request submission system for students.
The development was inspired by operational challenges encountered in daily practice. Previously, students were required to travel approximately 30–60 minutes to submit request forms in person, as the Faculty is located away from the main classroom buildings. Additionally, scheduling appointments with academic advisors often required advance arrangements, and issues such as document misplacement between departments and the academic services unit were reported.
The newly implemented system is 100% online, providing greater convenience for students and academic advisors while significantly improving workflow efficiency for staff members. Users can track the progress of their requests at every stage—from submission and review to final approval—reflecting the Faculty’s commitment to digital transformation, transparency, and service excellence.
