From 24–26 January 2026, the Contemporary Chinese Language Teaching Program, Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School (MIdS), Chiang Mai University, organized a community academic service project aimed at enhancing teaching experience in real educational settings. The activities were led by Assistant Professor Dr. Jirapipat Thanyapongphat, Chair of the Graduate Program Committee in Contemporary Chinese Language Teaching, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Orachorn Puangthong and Assistant Professor Dr. Phatmanus Sritrakul, faculty members of the program, as well as program staff. Graduate students from the Contemporary Chinese Language Teaching Program participated in the project at Phadungpanya School, Tak Province, Sukhothai Historical Park, and the Khlong Krachong Banana Leaf Community Enterprise, Sukhothai Province.

The project aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in teaching Chinese in formal educational institutions, while developing skills in instructional design, classroom management, and learning activity planning. It also sought to enhance students’ understanding of the relationship between language and culture, and to strengthen essential competencies for modern teachers, including creativity, collaboration, communication, and the effective use of educational technology. In addition, the project supported Chiang Mai University’s mission in providing academic services to society and in developing graduates with strong professional competencies and a sense of social responsibility.

During 24–25 January 2026, on-site teaching activities were conducted at Phadungpanya School, Tak Province. Graduate students delivered Chinese language instruction to students, focusing on communication skills through a variety of learning activities and the application of technology in teaching and learning. The program also provided knowledge-sharing sessions for teachers and students under the Tak Secondary Educational Service Area Office. This integrated work-based learning approach enabled students to practice instructional design, classroom management, and problem-solving skills in authentic teaching contexts.

On 25 January 2026, participants attended a study visit at Sukhothai Historical Park, followed by a visit to the Khlong Krachong Banana Leaf Community Enterprise, Sukhothai Province, on 26 January 2026. These activities aimed to connect language learning with cultural understanding through the study of Thai culture, strengthening awareness of Thailand’s cultural foundations and local wisdom. The experiences supported the development of effective instructional design and helped cultivate students’ social responsibility and community engagement.
