CMU’s Electric ‘Purple Shuttle’ Delivers Safe, Smart and Sustainable Campus Transport with Real-time Tracking

Chiang Mai University offers an internal transportation system through the CMU Electric Shuttle (Purple Shuttle), powered entirely by clean energy. The service provides free and convenient on-campus transportation for students and staff.
The Purple Shuttle connects all key areas of the university, including dormitories, faculties, and locations beyond the main campus through the CMU–Suandok and CMU–Mae Hia routes, helping reduce travel time and enhance convenience for university life.
Service available daily
• Main Campus: 07.00 – 21.35
• CMU – Suandok route: 07.00 – 21.00
• CMU – Mae Hia route: 07.00 – 20.30
Please note that schedules are subject to change during academic breaks.
Real-time tracking
- Users can track shuttle locations, the number of operating vehicles, and seat availability in real time via the CMU Mobile application by selecting the Transit menu.
- Tracking is also available to non-CMU Account holders via the
https://transit.scmc.cmu.ac.th
.
Key Features of CMU Electric Shuttle
The shuttle features an enclosed passenger cabin that protects passengers from sunlight and rain. Each vehicle is equipped with LED route display signs, and CCTV systems to ensure comfort and safety throughout the journey.
Stops
• Purple Shuttle stops are located throughout the campus.
• The Main Station, serving all routes, is located in front of Women’s Dormitory 3.
• Transit points for the Suandok and Mae Hia campuses are equipped with air-conditioned waiting rooms.
