MIdS CMU Holds Meeting to Discuss the Development of a Master of Arts Program in Art Psychotherapy

On Thursday, 12 February 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Salinee Santiteerakul, Associate Dean of Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School, Chiang Mai University, led a meeting to discuss the development of a Master of Arts Program in Art Psychotherapy. The meeting was held at Room 2-202/2, 2nd Floor, Building 2, MIdS CMU.

This meeting marked a collaborative initiative among MIdS, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Fine Arts, and Dr. Patcharin Sukontaphirom Na Phatthalung from the Art Therapy Foundation (Thailand). The proposed program builds upon a curriculum model from the Universit? du Qu?bec ? Montr?al (UQAM), Canada, developed under the direction of Dr. Pierre Plante.

The Art Psychotherapy program aims to produce qualified professionals equipped with academic knowledge and professional competencies in art therapy, capable of effectively responding to Thailand’s mental health needs.

Following the meeting, participants visited the educational facilities of the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Humanities from 1:30–4:30 p.m. at Chiang Mai University.
