International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI) Chiang Mai University recently hosted the Digital Innovation and Financial Technology Conference (DIFT) 2024-2 on Saturday, October 12, 2024. The event was inaugurated by Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the ICDI. A special guest lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Hung T. Nguyen, Professor Emeritus in Mathematical Sciences at New Mexico State University (USA) and Visiting Professor at Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Economics. Dr. Nguyen, listed among Stanford University's "World’s Top 2% Scientists 2024" for career-long citation impact in AI and Image Processing, presented on the topic "EXPLAINABLE TESTING (P-values & Shapley Values)."
The conference aimed to encourage graduate students to publish their research, providing a platform for knowledge exchange in the fields of Digital Innovation and Financial Technology. It also aimed to enhance students' confidence in presenting their work and foster academic collaboration, potentially leading to future research developments.
The event featured oral presentations by graduate students, with an expert panel evaluating the research, including Assistant Professor Dr. Kittawit Autchariyapanitkul from Maejo University, Dr. Watcharin Sarachai, and Dr. S.P. Gayathri from Gandhigram Rural Institute, India. The Best Oral Presentation awards were presented to PhD candidates Mr. Panyaphon Phiphatkhunarnon for his research on HIV and STIs prevention services in major Thai cities and Ms. Xinke Li for her study on user influence in blockchain-based social networks.
