CMU Secures Third Place in QS World University Rankings by Subject, boasting 13 Entries and Achieving a Remarkable Debut in Three Subjects

         On April 10, 2024, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced the 2024 edition of its World University Rankings by Subject and CMU has been ranked in 13 out of 55 Narrow Subjects, and in all five Broad Subjects, making it the third best-scoring Thai university.


            This year, CMU’s best performing subject is Nursing, where it places at No 101 – 150 globally, sharing the national top spot. CMU has also earned its first entry in Economics & Econometrics at No 451- 500, as well as reappearances by Engineering – Electrical & Electronic at No 451- 500 and Physics & Astronomy at 551 – 600, respectively.

           For Broad Subjects, CMU is ranked at No 313 in the world in Life Sciences & Medicine, and 451- 500 in Natural Sciences, marking the first ever appearance in this category, while successfully making a comeback in Arts & Humanities and Engineering & Technology at No 451 – 500 and 501 -550, respectively.

           The five metrics used in the QS World University Rankings by Subject are 1) Academic reputation, 2) Employer reputation, 3) Citations per paper, 4) H-index and 5) International Research Network. The weighting of each metric varies by discipline.
