International Recognition! Faculty Members from Agro-Industry-CMU Secure 2 Major Bilateral Research Grants (PMUC x CSIRO)

The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, extends our warmest congratulations to our exceptional research teams on their participation in the "Thailand-Australia IF4S Partnership: Joint LOI Ceremony for Venture Exchange Program (VEP) and Bilateral Research Grant Program" at the Auditorium, Australian Embassy Thailand (held on 15 June 2026).
At this prestigious event, the CMU research teams officially received Certificates of Recognition as 2 out of only 3 teams nationwide selected for the bilateral research grants. Co-funded by the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC) and Australia’s CSIRO through the Bilateral Research Grant Program, these grants aim to drive deep-tech innovations toward global markets.
The two award-winning projects are:
Project 1: "AI-Enabled Commercial Readiness: Enhancing Production Capability and Product Standardization for Industrial-Scale Alternative Meat, Cheese and Hybrid Pet Food Production"
Funding Awarded: 4,600,000 THB
Research Team: Asst. Prof. Dr. Suphat Phongthai, Dr. Pipat Tangjaidee, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Warinporn Klunklin
Project 2: "Scaling the Production of Microencapsulated Probiotic Edamame Beverage Powder and Bio-functional Protein Concentrates: A Pathway to Australian Market Commercialization"
Funding Awarded: 3,300,000 THB
Research Team: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutee Wangtueai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Julaluck Khemacheevakul, Asst. Prof. Dr. Siraphat Taesuwan, and Dr. Pattanapong Therdtatha
