Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Nursing (NurseCMU) has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a 4-year renewal as a World Health Organization Collaborating Center, WHO CC 203 for Nursing and Midwifery. This prestigious accolade, granted by the World Health Organization once every four years, underscores NurseCMU's unwavering commitment to advancing the global landscape of nursing and midwifery. The renewal signifies a remarkable five consecutive terms of leadership in shaping the landscape for nursing and midwifery practice.

NurseCMU has a rich history of collaboration with the World Health Organization, resulting in the creation of diverse manuals, groundbreaking research, and innovative media for knowledge dissemination. Within the Faculty of Nursing, expert faculty members actively contribute as consultants to the evolution of nursing curricula and extend nursing and midwifery education to various countries across Southeast Asia. Furthermore, NurseCMU is a vital training center for public health personnel development.

The World Health Organization (WHO) collaborates with over 800 institutions across 80 countries to support its programs. WHO Collaborating Centers, which include research institutes, university departments, and academies, are designated by the Director-General to bolster the Organization's initiatives. Currently, there are over 800 WHO Collaborating Centers in more than 80 Member States, actively working alongside the WHO in various domains, including nursing, occupational health, infectious diseases, nutrition, mental health, chronic diseases, and health technologies.
