CMU and OBEC Partner to Advance ‘Skills4Youth’ for Future-Ready Learning
8 May 2026
Corporate Communication and Alumni Relations Center (CCARC)
CMU and the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to advance the ‘Skills4Youth: Skills for Youth’ initiative, a life skills development program for teachers and students aimed at preparing Thai learners for future careers and lifelong learning.
The collaboration seeks to develop essential “skills for life” through innovative programs and activities covering digital literacy, soft skills, and 21st-century competencies. Through digital learning platforms such as CMU Lifelong, students, teachers, and educational personnel nationwide will be able to access learning resources free of charge at their convenience.
This nationwide initiative targets schools under OBEC’s 245 Educational Service Area Offices, as well as students and teachers across the country. It also aims to strengthen an interconnected educational ecosystem through collaborative learning networks between universities and schools, while guiding students in self-discovery and equipping them with future-ready skills.
Under the collaboration, Chiang Mai University will contribute expertise, learning technologies, and programs in AI for education, coding, STEM, and active learning. Meanwhile, OBEC will focus on nationwide school outreach, policy implementation, and area-based expansion.
The MOU, which will remain in effect for three years, marks an important milestone for Thai education in expanding equitable access to learning opportunities on a national scale.
