Young Economists Smart Camp 2026

On April 4–5, 2026, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organized the Young Economists Smart Camp 2026 at ECB3202 and the Computer Laboratory. The program aimed to provide high school students with an interest in economics the opportunity to engage in intensive academic learning through activities designed in alignment with 21st-century learning principles.

The camp focused on strengthening participants’ foundational knowledge in economics, covering both macroeconomics and microeconomics, as well as mathematical economics and economic policy. Participants were encouraged to develop systematic analytical thinking, learn how to utilize data and mathematical tools to explain economic phenomena, and enhance essential skills such as teamwork, planning, communication, and effective policy presentation.

The program was honored by the participation of distinguished faculty members from the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, who served as speakers and mentors. They closely shared their knowledge and experiences, fostering an engaging yet academically rigorous learning environment. This not only deepened participants’ understanding of economic concepts but also broadened their perspectives on the field of economics.

In addition, the camp aimed to inspire young participants to recognize the role of economics as a “tool for understanding the world and people,” while encouraging them to apply their knowledge to design sustainable solutions to social challenges. The program also served as a platform to identify and nurture the potential of the next generation of students interested in economics, preparing them to become future thought leaders.

The Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, firmly believes that the Young Economists Smart Camp 2026 will serve as a vital mechanism in laying the foundation for a new generation of economists who are knowledgeable, visionary, and ready to drive sustainable economic and social development in the future.
