Strategic Foresight
25 November 2025
Corporate Communication and Alumni Relations Center (CCARC)
On November 25, 2025, at the Yi Peng Grand Ballroom, Melia Hotel Chiang Mai, Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, CMU President, welcomed participants and officiated the university’s Strategic Foresight. The event aimed to generate ideas on CMU’s future directions and operational approaches, with the ultimate goal of formulating a winning strategy in the face of major disruptions across multiple dimensions, including demographic shifts, geopolitical changes, sustainability challenges, and the digital and AI revolution. Insights from this activity will be used to develop the CMU Educational Development Plan, Phase 14 (2028–2032).
The event featured a keynote lecture titled “Seeking Opportunities in a World Filled with Fluctuations,” delivered by Dr. Santitarn Sathirathai, member of the Monetary Policy Committee at the Bank of Thailand and a Future Economy advisor to the Thailand Development Research Institute. Also in attendance were CMU executives, members of the Phase 14 Educational Development Plan Working Committee, and working groups responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting trends and external factors that might influence CMU’s strategic direction and operations.
