ICDI Drives Strategic Foresight to Shape Future Scenarios and Design Strategic Initiatives

The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, organized the second day of the “ICDI Strategic Foresight” program on April 10, 2026, at the KONG Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel. The event was officially opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the College, and was actively attended by executives, faculty members, and staff. The program aimed to enhance participants’ capabilities in analyzing future trends and translating insights into actionable strategies and strategic initiatives.

This activity was conducted in collaboration with the School of Public Policy, Chiang Mai University. Assoc. Prof. Piyapong Boossabong, Acting Director, and Asst. Prof. Pobsook Chamchong, Acting Deputy Director, led the sessions, sharing their expertise and facilitating processes in Future Thinking and Scenario Planning to prepare the organization for future uncertainties and changes.

On the second day, participants engaged in hands-on foresight practices, systematically exploring key processes from analyzing driving forces by assessing their levels of impact and uncertainty, to developing “plausible future scenarios.” They then identified a “preferred future” and further translated these insights into the design of “flagship projects” to drive the College forward. This process strengthened participants’ systems thinking, collaboration, and decision-making under uncertainty key competencies for organizations in the digital era.

The ICDI Strategic Foresight initiative reflects the College’s commitment to being a learning organization driven by innovation and participation. It also reinforces its vision to become a leading international institution in digital innovation capable of shaping the future and creating sustainable impact.
