The International College of Digital Innovation and the Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, Welcome Delegate from Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), Indonesia, for a Discussion on Academic Collaboration

On April 21, 2025, Chiang Mai University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Piyapong Niamsup, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation, together with executives and faculty members from the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science, warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Hizir Sofyan, Director of the Graduate School of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), Indonesia, on the occasion of his visit to Chiang Mai University.
The visit aimed to explore potential academic collaboration in organizing the International Association for Statistical Computing – Asian Regional Section (IASC-ARS) conference, a significant platform for exchanging knowledge in statistical computing and data science. The initiative seeks to promote research, education, and international academic cooperation.
On this occasion, Chiang Mai University has also been honored to serve as the main host of The 14th Conference of the IASC-ARS, in conjunction with the 20th IMT-GT International Conference on Mathematics, Statistics and their Applications, scheduled to take place from December 2–4, 2026, at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. The Faculty of Science and the International College of Digital Innovation will co-host this prestigious event.
This collaboration marks another important step in strengthening Chiang Mai University's role on the international academic stage, fostering partnerships with institutions across the ASEAN region, and advancing sustainable development in the fields of data science and statistics.
