The 1st International Symposium on Applied Plasma Science and Engineering for Agro and Bio Industry

CMU’s Science and Technology Park co-hosted the “The 1st International Symposium on Applied Plasma Science and Engineering for Agro and Bio Industry” held on January 31, 2020. The symposium’s opening was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Kasemsak Uthaichana, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Park and Associate Professor Dr. Theerawan Boonyawan, Director of Physical Plasma and Particles Beam Research Center, Faculty of Science delivered an address at the opening and spoke about the symposium’s objectives.

The 2 day symposium was an opportunity for lectures, researchers, experts and interested parties to exchange their knowledge and gain new insights via the symposium’s activities, which included a Plasma – workshop, Business Show case and Tutorial Class.

This symposium saw more than 160 persons attend and the following special lectures were presented
- Large Powerful Plasma Reactors for Seeds Disinfection and Decontamination by Professor Dr. Miran Mozetic from Republic of Slovenia.
- Overview and Future Prospect of Plasma Farming in Korea by Professor Wonho Choe from Republic of Korea.
- Agricultural and Biofinery Applications Using Atmospheric – Pressure Plasma by Professor Dr. Masafumi Ito from Japan.
- Tribo electrification for Energy Harvesting, Delivery and Trobotronices by Professor Dr. Sung Woo Kim from Republic of Korea.
