Faculty of Medicine Researcher awarded Poster Prize

CMU’s Assistant Professor Dr. Chirapas Sripetcharawandee, Cardiac Electrophysiology Research and Training Center (CERT Center), Lecturer, Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, has been awarded a Poster Prize for the presentation on “Deferiprone and Efonidipine equally attenuated iron deposition in brain and iron-mediated brain toxicity in wild type and thalassemic mice” at the “18th Meeting of Junior Researchers meet with Senior Researchers” held by The Thailand Research Fund and Office of Higher Educational Committee on January 9 – 11, 2019, Huahin – Cha-am, Petchaburi Province.
Professor Theerakiat Charoensetthasilp, M.D., Minister of Education provided the award and this research was advised by Professor (Special Expert)
Dr. Nipon Chattipakorn, M.D., Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology Research and Training Center and Professor Dr. Siriporn Chattipakorn, National Outstanding Researcher of the year 2016. This research studied the effect of a surplus amount of iron in the body that was linked to thalassemia brain disease and the use of Deferiprone and Calcium Efonidipine drugs for iron elimination.
