Inaugural Thailand National PM 2.5 Forum Themed ‘Clean Air: Responsibility Shared by Public, Private and Civil Sectors’

Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), in partnership with Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), Centre for Clean Air Solutions (CCAS), Breath Council Chiang Mai and CMU, organized the first edition of the Thailand National PM 2.5 Forum themed ‘Clean Air: Responsibility Shared by Public, Private and Civil Sectors.’ CMU President, Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, gave a welcoming speech, Mr. Jakkaphon Tangsutthitham, Deputy Secretary- General to the Prime Minister, presided over the opening ceremony, while Dr. Supreeda Adulyanon, Manager of Thai Health Promotion Foundation, gave an overview report. The objective of this forum is to come up with policy conclusions on air pollution to be presented to the Royal Thai Government, encompassing the health system, wildfire management, open fire, agricultural lands, cross-border pollution, as well as industrial dust and their impacts on the business sector. Held at Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre on December 3, 2023, the event also had art exhibitions, dramatic performances, documentaries, panel discussions, music, workshops for clean air, informative exhibitions on dust and haze, in addition to booths selling local products produced by communities that were successful at controlling burning activities.
