7 May 2024
Corporate Communication and Alumni Relations Center (CCARC)
On May 7, 2024, at the Chiang Mai Orchid Hotel, Dr. Chirawath Phatsara, Assistant to the President, welcomed Police Lieutenant Phopchanok Chalanukroh, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA), who presided over the opening of the Workshop for Highland Ethnic Group Scholarship Students FY2024 held between May 6 – 10, 2024. Mr. Muhammad Santiphimuk, Director of the Internal Security Affairs Bureau, DOPA, gave an overview report. DOPA, in partnership with CMU and Mae Jo University (MJU), provided scholarships worth 30,000 baht per year to highland ethnic students in 15 provinces throughout the study program. 25 scholarships were awarded to new recipients (19 for CMU and 6 for MJU) and 75 to continuing recipients in order to enhance educational opportunities and promote a sense of patriotism and localism, allowing them to use the knowledge acquired to contribute to the development of their hometowns. This workshop also enabled scholarship students to form connections among peers and alumni.
