WoundWise AI Team Wins First Prize at MedChikathon 2026 Driving Health Innovation on a 36-Hour Creative Stage

The International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University, proudly congratulates the WoundWise AI Team for winning First Prize at MedChikathon 2026, organized by the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, under the theme “Rethink • Redesign • Rebuild Care.” The 36-hour health innovation competition brought together participants from diverse disciplines to collaboratively develop ideas and prototype solutions for the future of healthcare.

In this competition, Asst. Prof. Dr. Benjamas Suksatit, Vice Dean, and Dr. Worawit Tepsan, lecturer from the International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University, joined the WoundWise AI Team together with registered nurses from Male Medical Ward 3, Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital. Through intensive collaboration, creativity, and teamwork, the team successfully secured the highest award of the competition.

WoundWise AI is a health innovation initiative focusing on the development of an integrated approach to pressure injury care through interdisciplinary collaboration and digital innovation.

This achievement reflects the power of interdisciplinary collaboration and highlights the strength of partnership between academic units within Chiang Mai University and clinical practice settings. It also demonstrates how knowledge can be translated into meaningful healthcare innovation with strong potential for future development and real-world application.
