The Media Arts and Design Program, Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University, invites everyone interested in Digital Art, Interactive Media, and Audiovisual Art to participate in MADs GameGround (GG), taking place on 11–12 February 2026 at the Media Arts and Design Program, CMU Art and Culture Center.

MADs GameGround (GG) serves as a platform for exchanging knowledge, experiences, and creative practices in contemporary media arts through workshops, artist talks, and live performances. This year, the program is honored to welcome Dr. Patrick Hartono, Lecturer in Digital Media (Interaction) at RMIT University Vietnam, who will lead and participate in various activities, sharing his expertise in digital media, interactive art, and audiovisual practices.

The event schedule is as follows:
On 11 February 2026, at 4:00 PM, a TouchDesigner Workshop will be held at the Com Lab.
On 12 February 2026, at 4:00 PM, an Artist’s Talk by Dr. Patrick Hartono and Kittiphan Janbuala (special guest artist) will take place at Audit 2.
Later, at 6:30 PM, a Live Session featuring Dr. Patrick Hartono, Kittiphan Janbuala, 0.044 x Sahapon, Noclipscripts x Thirdvader, Sirasin, and additional guest artists will be presented on the rooftop of the Media Arts and Design Program.

The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Patrick Hartono is an artist, academic, and researcher whose creative practice integrates technology and computational methodologies across fields such as electroacoustic music, generative visuals, audiovisual art, NIME, and creative machine learning. His works combine traditional Indonesian instruments, computer-generated sounds, generative visuals, and field recordings through mathematical principles, real-time interaction, and controlled randomness, resulting in immersive sonic and audiovisual experiences.

In addition to his artistic practice, Dr. Hartono actively contributes to the field of computer music as a board member of the International Computer Music Association (ICMA) and the Australasia Computer Music Association. His works have been presented at numerous international festivals and conferences worldwide, including ICMC, NIME, Ars Electronica, IRCAM, ZKM, CCRMA (Stanford), Gaudeamus, Sonorities Festival, and many others.

The event’s promotional materials were designed by Teerapong Surawang, a student of the Media Arts and Design Program, Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University.
