NurseCMU Celebrates Professor Emeritus Wipada Kunaviktikul’s UAB Lifetime Career Achievement Award.

The Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University (NurseCMU) proudly congratulates Professor Emeritus Wipada Kunaviktikul, PhD, RN, FAAN, on receiving the Dean’s Award for Lifetime Career Achievement from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing. She is one of seven distinguished alumni honored as part of UAB Nursing’s 75th Diamond Anniversary Gala, to be held on October 11, 2025.

Professor Emeritus Wipada, a UAB alumna (PhD, 1994), is a globally recognized nursing leader whose career has transformed education, research, and health policy across Asia. She currently serves as Professor and Vice President in Health Science at Panyapiwat Institute of Management, and is Professor Emeritus and former Dean of NurseCMU. Over four decades, she has led major initiatives in nursing education, international collaboration, and research, and served as director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Development.

Her outstanding achievements have been recognized with prestigious honors, including induction into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame, fellowship in the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), Thailand’s National Distinguished Professor in Health Science Award, and UAB’s Distinguished Alumni (2018) and Visionary Leader (2010) Awards.

This award recognizes her lifelong contributions to nursing excellence and innovation, bringing great pride to NurseCMU and the broader health care community.
