Dissolve / Contain MADs Degree Show 2026

Dissolve / Contain
MADs Degree Show 2026
Dissolve / Contain proposes a temporary site of speculation, experimentation, and imagination toward worlds that may never have existed. The exhibition unfolds within the tension between the human impulse to organize, systematize, and contain the world, and the persistent condition in which things dissolve, leak, transform, and escape such control.
Within this framework, the creation of thesis artworks is not approached as an act of conclusion or affirmation of truth. Rather, it functions as a speculative exercise—an engagement with possibilities, projects, plans, or models of the world constructed to render complexity more legible, yet impossible to fully realize in practice.
Art operates here as a provisional container: a space in which ideas, materials, and experiences are temporarily held before dissolving, shifting in state, or revealing the limitations of the structures that attempt to contain them.
In this sense, Dissolve / Contain does not denote deception or falsehood. Instead, it refers to a condition of proposing that which remains unfinished, indeterminate, and potentially unrealizable—a gesture toward futures, systems, or imaginaries that remain perpetually in process, unresolved, and unstable.
