Indian Ambassador to Thailand visits the Indian Studies Center

CMU’s Vice President Associate Professor Rome Chiranukrom accompanied with Associate Professor Tepin Patcharanurak, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Dr. Rangsima Wiwatwongwana, Director of CMU’s Indian Studies Center (ISC), welcomed H. E. Mrs. Suchitra Durai, Indian Ambassador to Thailand, accompanied with Mr. Krishna Chaitanya, Consul General of India to Chiang Mai and colleagues during their visit to ISC.

ISC was officially opened on April 24, 2019 by H. E. Mrs. Suchitra Durai who presided over the opening ceremony. Chiang Mai University was the first to establish an Indian Studies Center in the northern region and it aims to develop joint research and curriculums in the field of Indian Studies in line with its “Indian Wisdom of Lanna” vision, and aims to be a center for multidiscipline collaboration on Indian Studies both nationally and internationally.
