ICDI Organizes Strategic Foresight Workshop to Envision the Future and Shape ICDI’s Development Direction

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, organized “ICDI Strategic Foresight: Shaping Change for a Future-Ready ICDI” at the Fai Kham Meeting Room, University Academic Service Center (UNISERV), Chiang Mai University. The event aimed to encourage the participation of executives, faculty members, and staff in strategic foresight and collaboratively identify development directions for the College in response to changes in the economy, society, and digital technology. Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitipong Yodmongkol, Vice President of Chiang Mai University and Acting Dean of ICDI, presided over the opening ceremony.

The event featured Asst. Prof. Ora-orn Poocharoen, PhD, from the School of Public Policy, Chiang Mai University, as the guest speaker, who shared insights and approaches to strategic foresight and facilitated interactive workshops. These sessions provided opportunities for executives, faculty members, and staff to brainstorm, exchange perspectives, and reflect on the College’s strengths and potential. Participants began by reviewing ICDI’s key strengths and achievements, including international education, academic collaborations, entrepreneurship and innovation promotion, as well as staff capabilities and organizational culture.

In addition, participants engaged in discussions on the Persona of Future ICDI Graduates, focusing on the knowledge, skills, and attributes that graduates should possess. The discussions reflected shared perspectives and expectations for preparing students to adapt to future changes and challenges.

During the final session, participants collaboratively analyzed and exchanged perspectives on ICDI’s possible future scenarios. They proposed ideas and development directions across various dimensions, including education, digital innovation development, partnership building, and organizational adaptation to future changes. The session aimed to develop a shared understanding of the College’s possible futures and gather valuable insights to support future strategic planning and guide ICDI’s long-term development.
