Faculty of Medicine Staff Member Earns Best Fellow Research Award (Second Runner-up) at 42nd RCPT Annual Meeting

Dr. Thanapong Chopetgool, a hematology fellow at the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, received the Best Fellow Research Award (Second Runner-up) at the 42nd Annual Meeting of The Royal College of Physicians of Thailand (RCPT) held on March 20, 2026. His research titled, ‘Adjunct resveratrol or omeprazole in non-transfusion dependent thalassaemia patients with secondary haemochromatosis: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial’, investigates the treatment of iron overload in thalassaemia patients using adjunct resveratrol or omeprazole, compared with a placebo, to reduce iron absorption alongside standard iron chelators.
