LICMU meets the Consul-General of Japan in Chiang Mai to Strengthen Cooperation in Language and Culture

Language Institute, Chiang Mai University (LICMU), led by Assistant Professor Sakorn Ruanklai, Director of the Language Institute, and Mr. Karim Hussain, General Manager & Head of International Development, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Harada Masaru, Consul-General of Japan in Chiang Mai, and Mr. Takahiro Sugiki, Vice Consul, on Monday, 9 February 2026, to discuss academic collaboration and exchange initiatives between Thailand and Japan.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in English language development of undergraduates from Japan and promotion of local cultural, with the aim of strengthening Thailand–Japan relations and expanding educational opportunities in the future.
LICMU remains committed to working closely with the Consulate-General of Japan in Chiang Mai to support ongoing and sustainable activities in language, culture, and educational exchange.
