CHIANG MAI – The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) is moving forward with its mission to cultivate digital leaders by organizing a study visit to the Sustainable Campus Management Center (SCMC) at Chiang Mai University. The visit is part of the "Next Level Leadership Smart Cities Program," designed to provide local authorities with a blueprint for systematic city data management.

The depa Northern Region Branch stated that its core mission is to promote and support the development of digital industries and innovation. A key priority is enhancing the digital skills of personnel in both the public and private sectors, as well as advancing digital infrastructure, particularly for Smart City initiatives.

To achieve this, depa has launched the "Next Level Leadership Smart Cities Program: Digital Transformation Leaders for Smart City Development." This program aims to upgrade the competencies of local government personnel, enabling them to effectively apply digital technologies and manage urban data systems.

Chiang Mai University’s Sustainable Campus Management Center (SCMC) has been selected as the study site due to its status as an excellent role model for Smart City management. The visit is scheduled for Friday, December 14, 2025, from 09:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

During the visit, participants will gain hands-on insights into real-world operations, big data management, and the integration of technology to enhance urban living. This initiative is expected to empower local leaders to bring back valuable knowledge to transform their respective regions into sustainable smart cities.
