21 August 2025
Faculty of Mass Communication
‘RETRY?’, a short film produced by students from the CMU Faculty of Mass Communication, Kowittamrong Chiangmai School, and King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), won two awards at the 10th International Science Drama Competition 2025. The film claimed first place in the Short Film Category and also received the Best Video & Editing Cinematography Award. The award ceremony was held on August 3, 2025, at the Science Centre Singapore.
The film was produced by Mr. Pakkapol Wuttipatanatawol and Mr. Thapanaphong Pariwutthiphong, third-year Digital Film majors at CMU’s Faculty of Mass Communication, in collaboration with Kowittamrong Chiangmai School and KMUTNB. ‘RETRY?’ had earlier won the Thailand Science Drama Competition 2025, organized by the National Science Museum Thailand (NSM), which qualified it to represent Thailand on the international stage.
The 10th International Science Drama Competition 2025, held under the theme “Energy Matters!”, brought together contestants from Singapore, Indonesia, China, and Thailand. The competition aims to foster creative science communication through film and theatre while providing a global networking platform for young science communicators. The Thai team’s success highlights the capability of Thai students to harness the power of filmmaking to raise awareness about energy and science on an international scale.
