BSF Research Networking and Knowledge Exchange Forum

The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, through the Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN), organized the BSF Research Networking and Knowledge Exchange Forum under the project:
“Black Soldier Fly as Green and Waste Management for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Community in the Lancang–Mekong Region.”
The event was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, who presided over the opening ceremony, along with Asst. Prof.
Shitapan Bai-Ngew, Director of FIN, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiraporn Kulsarin, the Project Leader.

A key highlight of the event was the signing ceremony of the collaboration agreement to establish BSF Model Farms between:
Chiang Mai University (FIN, Faculty of Agro-Industry), National University of Laos and Vietnam National University of Agriculture

The forum also featured a special lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Longyu Zheng from Huazhong Agricultural University, China, on BSF farming technology and processes.
Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol presented an overview of BSF initiatives in Thailand. The forum included knowledge exchange sessions with representatives from Laos, Vietnam, China, and Thailand, focusing on research collaboration and technology transfer.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit the BSF Model Farm, aiming to strengthen research networks and promote sustainable organic waste management solutions in the Mekong region.
The program will continue throughout the week.
This significant step marks a driving force toward a low-carbon society and the sustainable improvement of community well-being.
