A.I. CMU Researcher Team awarded Best Paper Award

Corporate Communication and Alumni Relations Center (CCARC)
CMU’s Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) research team from the computational Intelligence Research Laboratory (CI Lab), Faculty of Engineering and Biomedical Engineering Institute, were awarded “Best Paper Award” at The 9th IEEE International Conference on Control Systems, Computing and Engineering, in Penang, Malaysia during November, 29 – December, 1, 2019.
Their paper “Person Identification from Ear Images Using Convolution Neural Networks” was written by Associate Professor Dr. Sansanee
Auepantawiriyakul , Mr. Natchapol Pethaitiemthong, Mr. Pasawat
Chuenphet and Associate Professor Dr. Nipon Theera – ampon. This research presented a new A.I. method in order to identify a person from ear images, in order to reduce the problem of correctly identifying persons by face images.
