On 2 July 2026, from 8.30 a.m. onwards, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organised a workshop entitled “Preparing for International Education Accreditation Council (IEAC) Accreditation” to enhance the knowledge and readiness of its executives and staff in advancing the Faculty towards internationally recognised educational quality standards.

The workshop was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Boonthida Uephiphatkul, Ph.D., Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, and an International Education Accreditation Council (IEAC) Assessor. Drawing upon her extensive experience, she provided participants with practical insights into the IEAC accreditation framework, assessment criteria, and quality assurance processes.

The programme aimed to strengthen participants' understanding of the IEAC standards while developing practical skills in preparing the required documentation, supporting evidence, and implementation plans. It also encouraged collaborative planning to ensure that the Faculty's quality assurance practices align with international accreditation requirements.

During the morning session, participants attended a lecture on “International Education Accreditation Council (IEAC): Standards and Accreditation Process”, gaining an overview of the principles, criteria, and procedures of international educational accreditation.

The afternoon session featured an interactive workshop, where participants practised developing documentation, evidence portfolios, and implementation plans under the guidance of the facilitator. The hands-on activities enabled staff to apply the concepts directly to their own academic programmes and quality assurance processes.

This initiative reflects the Faculty of Economics' strong commitment to continuous quality enhancement and internationalisation. By preparing systematically for IEAC accreditation, the Faculty aims to strengthen educational excellence, enhance international recognition, and provide greater confidence to students, employers, and academic partners worldwide.
