MIdS CMU Hosts Industrial Forum on “Innovation Toward Industrial Sustainability”

On Monday, 26 January 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m., Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School (MIdS), Chiang Mai University, organized an industrial forum entitled “Innovation Toward Industrial Sustainability.” The event was officially opened by Professor Dr. Apichat Sophadang, Dean of Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School, Chiang Mai University, who delivered the welcome remarks. The forum was held at Faikham Conference Room, 1st Floor, Academic Services Center, Chiang Mai University.
This industrial forum was organized following the signing of an MOU on Sustainability Beyond Net Zero between Chiang Mai University and five leading industrial companies. The collaboration aims to advance knowledge, technology, innovation, and human capacity development, enabling Thailand to emerge as a regional leader in sustainability. The partnership is expected to be further developed and expanded across multiple dimensions.
The forum featured keynote speeches, special lectures, and panel discussions under the theme “Innovation Toward Industrial Sustainability,” with the following highlights:
Special Keynote Address: “Thailand’s Mission: From Research to Leadership in Climate Action and Industrial Innovation”
by Professor Dr. Komkrit Leksakul, Deputy Director of the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI).
Industrial Panel Discussion: “Innovation Toward Industrial Sustainability”
under the collaborative framework between Chiang Mai University (CMU) and representatives from five leading industrial companies within the Carbon Business Networking initiative.
Roundtable Discussion: “Industrial Perspectives Beyond Net Zero: Challenges, Opportunities, and Collaboration with Chiang Mai University”
featuring executives from the five leading industrial companies in the Carbon Business Networking initiative, together with Professor of Practice Dr. Sate Sampattagul, Director of the Academic Services Center, Chiang Mai University.
The session was moderated by Professor Dr. Puangrat Kaewlom, Associate Dean of MIdS CMU.
