The Huai Hong Khrai Royal Development Study Centre, located in Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province, hosted the event “One Decade, Two Reigns: Continuing the Legacy of Development” from 6–8 October 2026.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mrs. Suporn Trinarin, Secretary-General of the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board (RDPB). Mr. Thotsaphon Phueanudom, Governor of Chiang Mai, delivered the welcoming remarks. The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Chanakan Prom -U-Thai, Ph.D., Assistant to the President of Chiang Mai University, along with executives, representatives, and officials from various government agencies.

The event presents the story of the continued implementation of royal development initiatives and marks an important milestone commemorating one decade (10 years) of the reign of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X).

The event’s central theme traces the continuity of development across two reigns. Under His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX), the Huai Hong Khrai Royal Development Study Centre was established as a model for sustainable development through the dissemination of knowledge and royal development initiatives. Over the years, the centre has become widely recognized as a “living natural museum,” demonstrating practical approaches to natural resource management and sustainable development.

Under His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X), these initiatives have continued and been further developed, reflecting His Majesty’s commitment to “carrying forward, preserving, and building upon” the royal development initiatives. These efforts focus on the sustainable management of soil, water, and forests, as well as improving the quality of life of the people, with the ultimate goal of ensuring lasting benefits and well-being for communities.

The event serves as a reflection of the continuity of royal development initiatives and the ongoing efforts to apply these principles toward sustainable resource management and the well-being of the people.
