Prof. Shen Yi, the Chinese Director of Confucius Institute, Chiang Mai University, was awarded the ‘Golden Singha Pin Award’ in the Outstanding Administrator Category of 2021 by the Thai Federation of Journalists and he was also selected as the 2021’s ‘Cultural Ambassador (Social Role Model)’ in the Emeritus Cultural Ambassador Category for Excellence in Defence and Security by the Thai Societal Development Foundation in partnership with the Jit-aree Madam Uppatham Foundation, the Assembly of Radio Broadcasters, the ASEAN Network Thailand and the ASEAN Business Association. Prof Shen Yi attended the awarding ceremony chaired by Major General. HRH. Mr. Waiyawat Jakkpan held on May 29, 2021, at Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok Hotel.
The aim of the selection and awarding is three-fold: to provide encouragement and serve as a guideline for personnel and organisational administration for successful execution of task and vision, to set up examples and provide encouragement in national development, and to foster administrators that would drive the country’s strengths and development in line with the government’s policy in continuous promotion and development of individual capacity.
