ICDI, Chiang Mai University Welcomes Delegation from Binzhou, China to Strengthen Industry and Trade Collaboration
1 April 2026
International College of Digital Innovation
The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, had the honor of welcoming a delegation from the Binzhou Municipal People’s Government, Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China. The delegation was led by Mr. Gao Kun, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Binzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, accompanied by representatives from the private sector of Binzhou.
The visit took place on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, at Room ICB1102, ICDI, Chiang Mai University, with the aim of fostering collaboration and strengthening connections between academia and industry.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation, delivered the welcome remarks and officially hosted the delegation. She emphasized ICDI’s role as a hub for digital innovation and as a platform for international collaboration between academic institutions and industry partners.
This visit was facilitated through the coordination of the Asian-International Trade and Investment Association (AITIA), which initially approached ICDI with the intention of bringing the Binzhou delegation to visit the college. AITIA also encouraged ICDI to invite relevant stakeholders and organizations in Thailand to participate in the meeting, thereby enhancing opportunities for business networking and investment collaboration.
The program featured presentations by the Binzhou delegation, highlighting the city’s economic landscape, key industries, and development trends. This was complemented by presentations from Thai participants, who shared insights into Thailand’s e-commerce sector, as well as industries related to hardware and metal parts, rope and safety equipment, and commercial kitchenware.
ICDI also invited representatives from leading organizations in Chiang Mai and across Thailand to join the session. These included members of the Chiang Mai Federation of Thai Industries, the BizClub Thailand business network, international logistics companies, the Thai-Beijing Chamber of Commerce (Chiang Mai Branch), and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Thailand. Their participation enriched the discussion and expanded opportunities for future collaboration.
The event also included a Business Presentation and Matching Session, providing a valuable platform for entrepreneurs from both sides to introduce their companies, exchange ideas, and explore potential partnerships.
This visit marks another significant step for ICDI, Chiang Mai University, in strengthening international cooperation and promoting meaningful engagement between academia and industry on a global scale.
