ICDI, CMU Participates in Academic Visit and Knowledge Exchange under the TTHER Project

International College of Digital Innovation
On 13 August 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, participated in an academic visit and knowledge-sharing session under the TTHER Project, led by Edinburgh Napier University. The event brought together faculty members from the International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University, and Jiangnan University to exchange academic knowledge and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
The event was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Hongnian Yu, who provided an overview of the programme, together with Prof. Dr. Chan Hwang See.
The session began with a presentation by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nopasit Chakpitak, a faculty member of the International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University, and former President of Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd. (AEROTHAI), on the topic “Smart Home for Elders.” The presentation focused on the application of smart technologies to support older adults, promote independent living, and enhance healthcare.
This was followed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University, who introduced the College and shared its academic activities, research work, and opportunities for future collaboration.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huarong Zhao from Jiangnan University then shared his research on “Data-Driven Control and Its Applications,” highlighting the use of data-driven approaches in modern control and intelligent systems.
The programme continued with Prof. Dr. Radom Pongvuthithum from Chiang Mai University, who shared his research on “Robotics for Healthcare,” discussing the potential of robotics and intelligent technologies in healthcare applications.
The final research sharing session was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chulin Likasiri from Chiang Mai University, who shared her research on “Optimization in Real Applications,” highlighting how optimization methods can be applied to practical and real-world problems.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for academic exchange, interdisciplinary discussion, and knowledge sharing, while strengthening connections and exploring opportunities for future research collaboration among the participating institutions.
