The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, organized a workshop entitled “Guidelines for Compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA)” under the Digital Capacity Development Project on 26 August 2026 at Room ICB1102. The workshop was officially opened by Assistant Professor Dr. Chaiwuth Tangsomchai, Associate Dean of ICDI.

The College was honored to welcome Dr. Damrongsak Naparat, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Service Center (ITSC), Chiang Mai University, as the guest speaker. He provided participants with valuable knowledge and practical guidance on ensuring that workplace practices and operations comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

The workshop aimed to enhance staff members’ knowledge and understanding of the PDPA and promote appropriate practices in accordance with the law. The PDPA provides an important legal framework governing the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data, with the aim of safeguarding the rights and privacy of data subjects.

The workshop also emphasized the practical application of PDPA principles in day-to-day operations, enabling staff members to carry out their responsibilities appropriately and in compliance with legal requirements. In addition, the initiative supports ICDI in continuously developing and updating its personal data protection practices to ensure their accuracy and alignment with current requirements, thereby strengthening data governance and minimizing potential risks associated with institutional operations.
