The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, organized the “ICDI Strategic Foresight” initiative on 7 and 10 April 2026 at the KONG Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel. The event aimed to broaden perspectives on digital economy trends and global transformations, while preparing to define the College’s strategic direction over the next 5–10 years in alignment with the rapidly changing global landscape.

On the first day, 7 April 2026, the event was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation, who delivered the opening remarks. The session was attended by the College’s executives, faculty members, and staff.

The event was honored by the presence of distinguished national experts, including:

He was joined by Dr. Pisit Leeahtam and Mr. Somsak Wongpanyathaworn in an engaging exchange of perspectives. Participants were encouraged to actively ask questions and share their views, contributing to the formulation of strategic directions for the College’s future development.

In the afternoon, participants engaged in interactive workshops titled “Where Are We Now?” and “ICDI Futures (Rethink)”. These sessions provided an opportunity to assess the College’s current situation and exchange ideas through a series of foresight-driven questions. Discussions covered emerging signals of change, strategic opportunities and risks, and their potential impacts on the College’s core missions across multiple dimensions.

The session on 10 April 2026 will focus on developing plausible future scenarios based on the signals and trends identified during the first session. Participants will also engage in strategy testing and design under various scenarios, enabling the College to enhance its preparedness and effectively navigate future uncertainties.

The ICDI Strategic Foresight initiative marks a significant step in strengthening staff capabilities in future-oriented thinking and advancing the organization through participatory strategic planning. It reflects ICDI’s commitment to becoming a leading innovative institution with sustainable international excellence.
