On 10 July 2026, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, led by Mattana Wongsirikajorn, Ph.D., Deputy Dean, together with Mr.Chalermsak Saenglee, General Administration Officer, presented the SDGs Monitoring & Evaluation Unit to Chiang Mai Municipality at Meeting Room 2, Chiang Mai Municipality Office.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Ms Kantchanok Prakatwutthisan, Deputy Mayor of Chiang Mai Municipality, together with Ms Parisana Thati, Director of the Strategy and Budget Division, and relevant municipal officers, who attended the presentation and exchanged views on the potential application of the system to support municipal management and strategic planning.

The SDGs Monitoring & Evaluation Unit has been developed to support the monitoring and evaluation of projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The system enables organisations to visualise the alignment of projects with individual SDGs, analyse budget allocation across the goals, and assess measurable outcomes through evidence-based indicators. These capabilities support more effective planning, decision-making, and performance management.

The presentation reflects the Faculty of Economics' commitment to translating academic expertise and digital innovation into practical solutions for the public sector. By strengthening collaboration between the University and local government, the initiative supports evidence-based policymaking and contributes to sustainable urban development in line with the SDGs.
