The Faculty of Architecture at Chiang Mai University recently hosted a visit from a delegation of Xiamen University. The event also included representatives from the Faculty of Engineering at Chiang Mai University, facilitating a meeting between the three institutions.

Chiang Mai University’s Faculty of Architecture recently hosted a delegation from Xiamen University’s School of Architecture and Civil Engineering for a comprehensive academic and administrative exchange. The visit also included representatives from CMU’s Faculty of Engineering, fostering a broad dialogue between the two institutions.

The Xiamen University delegation included Professor Wang Shaosen, Dean of the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering; Professor Wang Liangliang; and Mr. Wei Zhiyuan, founder of TopDesign and an external expert. They were officially welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr. Phandin Ounjai-na, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, along with Ms. Nattakan Amatayakul, General Administrative Officer (International Relations), and Mr. Qianrui Cao, Teaching Assistant for the Master of Architecture Program (International Program).

Joining the discussion from the CMU Faculty of Engineering were Associate Professor Dr. Thongchai Fongsamut, Dean; Assistant Professor Dr. Preeda Pichayaphan, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering; Ms. Nattanan Panboonplook, General Administrative Officer (International Relations); and Ms. Kulnan Sriklakul, General Administrative Officer (Public Relations).

The agenda included a tour of the campus and key facilities, such as the CLIC Center and the Digital Fabrication Lab, providing the visiting delegation with an opportunity to observe teaching methodologies and innovative resources firsthand. Discussions focused on various aspects of academic administration, including curriculum management, developing course content to keep pace with rapid technological and social changes, and resource management.

The meeting concluded with both parties exploring potential avenues for future collaboration.
