Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University Receives Franz Liszt Sculpture in Collaboration with the Embassy of Hungary in Thailand
On Monday, 12 January 2026, the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University, held a ceremony to receive the sculpture of Franz Liszt, the world-renowned Hungarian composer and classical pianist, as part of the academic and cultural collaboration between Chiang Mai University and the Embassy of Hungary in Thailand. The ceremony took place at the Ground Floor Plaza, Faculty of Fine Arts Office Building, Chiang Mai University.
On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Szilvia Szal?ki, Ambassador of Hungary to Thailand, graciously presented the sculpture. The ceremony was presided over by PROF. PONGRUK SRIBANDITMONGKOL, M.D., Ph.D., President of Chiang Mai University, who officially received the sculpture. The event was attended by Assoc. Prof.SUGREE GASORNGATSARA, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, along with university executives, faculty members, and staff.
The ceremony was enhanced by a choral performance by students from the CMU Choir, creating a refined artistic atmosphere. The choir performance was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. KHANITHEP PITUPUMNAK.
The presentation of the Franz Liszt sculpture represents a significant milestone in strengthening academic, artistic, and cultural cooperation between Chiang Mai University and Hungary, reflecting the university’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and cultural exchange on a sustainable basis.
