CMU Welcomes Colombian Delegation under Thailand–Medell?n Air Quality Collaboration Program

On May 12, 2026, at the Buaret Khamthong Meeting Room, Office of the University Building 2, Professor Dr. Ekkasit Tharavichitkul, Assistant to the President, presided over the opening ceremony for the study visit of a delegation of experts from Colombia under the Improving Air Quality: Collaborative Solutions between Medell?n and Thailand program. During the visit, Associate Professor Dr. Somporn Chantara, Chair of the Academic Working Group for Supporting Solutions to Northern Haze and Director of the CMU Environmental Science Research Centre, delivered a lecture on the air pollution situation in Northern Thailand and research-driven approaches to addressing the issue. Assistant Professor Dr. Wan Wiriya, Deputy Director of the Centre, also presented innovations designed to help protect individuals from PM 2.5 pollution.
