MIdS CMU Joins the 2025 Chiang Mai University “Freshmen Trek to Doi Suthep” Tradition
24 November 2025
Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School
On Saturday, 22 November 2025, Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School, Chiang Mai University, participated in Chiang Mai University’s traditional Freshmen Trek to Doi Suthep.
The MIdS contingent was led by Associate Professor Dr. Ekkarat Boonchieng, Associate Dean of MIdS, together with administrators, faculty members, staff, and graduate students of MIdS. The procession began at Chiang Mai University and continued up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Ratchaworawihan, dedicated as a royal merit-making offering to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
This year’s event was held under the theme:
“Freshmen Trek to the Mountain: Connecting Hundreds of Lands, Thousands of Tribes, Diverse Communities Flourishing Together.”
The theme pays tribute to the benevolence and compassion of Her Majesty The Queen Mother, whose royal initiatives have greatly benefited people of all ethnic groups, including highland communities, by creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, occupations, and overall well-being.
